Kate and William Ensure Prince Louis Receives His Wimbledon Moment Through Champion Jannik Sinner’s Sweet Gesture

The Prince and Princess of Wales made sure Wimbledon champion Jannik Sinner’s sweet gesture extended to all three royal children — including a thoughtful surprise for young Prince Louis, who didn’t attend the final in person

While Prince George and Princess Charlotte were present to meet and receive signed tennis balls from Wimbledon winner Jannik Sinner, their parents made sure Prince Louis wasn’t left out of the royal family’s courtside moment

In a heartwarming conclusion to Wimbledon 2025, Prince William and Princess Kate made sure that even their youngest, Prince Louis, was included in the family’s special encounter with newly crowned men’s singles champion Jannik Sinner.

Following Sinner’s commanding 4-6, 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 victory over Carlos Alcaraz, the Italian tennis star met the Prince and Princess of Wales alongside their two elder children, Prince George, 11, and Princess Charlotte, 10, for a post-match conversation and exchange of pleasantries.

As seen in BBC footage aired Sunday, July 13, the royals chatted with the 23-year-old champion about his win, upcoming celebration plans, and his elbow recovery. The exchange turned even more memorable when Sinner graciously took three tennis balls from Charlotte to sign.

“Thank you so much, that’s really kind,” said Princess Kate, smiling warmly. She then pointed out that one of the balls was not for George or Charlotte, but for their little brother. “We brought one for their brother as well,” she explained.

Prince William chimed in with a laugh, “Louis would be very upset otherwise.”

While George and Charlotte watched the final live in the Royal Box with their parents, Prince Louis, 7, has yet to make his Wimbledon debut. However, the thoughtful gesture ensured he was still a part of the day’s excitement. Notably, both George and Charlotte were older than Louis when they first attended the tournament — George debuting at age 8 in 2022, and Charlotte in 2023 at the same age.

The family moment followed Princess Kate’s return to the public spotlight as she presented the trophy on Centre Court in her role as Patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club. It marked one of her few public appearances in 2025, after revealing earlier this year that she has been undergoing treatment in her recovery from cancer.

Throughout the exchange, George and Charlotte were poised and engaged. George politely told Sinner, “Well played,” while the champion asked the children about their own tennis playing habits and racquet choices. Both replied, “Yonex,” prompting a smile and nod of approval from the Italian star.

Kate, ever the supportive mother, remarked that Sinner’s win “was seriously inspiring and impressive,” with a glance toward her children.

The delightful moment was a blend of sportsmanship, royalty, and family affection — and a reminder that even in the grandeur of Centre Court, it’s often the quiet, thoughtful gestures that leave the most lasting impressions.
